John,
It's official: WFP-endorsed Melanie Stansbury won the special election in NM-1 by 24.6 percentage points over her Republican opponent — one of the biggest margins of victory Democrats have ever captured in the district!
Last night's lesson is clear: Voters will reward Democrats in competitive races if they are willing to go big and fight for a bold jobs and care agenda that will center working families.
And the time is now for Democratic majorities in Congress to deliver.
This summer will be a critical time in our fight to keep the pressure on Democrats in Congress to legislate boldly and elect more progressive champions who won't shy away from our values. Can you make a contribution of $3 or more to help us keep up this incredible momentum?

Melanie Stansbury championed massive investments in infrastructure — and her message resonated. Meanwhile, Republican efforts to scare voters about her commitment to criminal justice reform fell as flat as they did in Larry Krasner's race for re-election as Philadelphia's District Attorney last month.
Thanks to your grassroots support, WFP was able to mobilize our biggest volunteer effort yet in New Mexico in the short timeframe before this special election — making thousands of phone calls and sending more than 100,000 text messages to voters across the district.
We have several more opportunities to elect more WFP champions this summer — including Nina Turner in another special election in OH-11 — and our organizing efforts are already underway across the country. But we also can't let up in demanding that Democrats in Congress seize the mandate voters have given them and deliver jobs and care to the working families who elected them.
We have a lot of work to do, and we count on grassroots supporters like you, John — not corporate donors — to power all of it. Make a contribution of 3 to WFP today to support our organizing nationwide this summer.
In solidarity,
Team WFP
