Team,

As the first openly gay person to serve New Hampshire in Congress, Pride Month is personal to me. It's an opportunity to celebrate LGBTQ individuals, activists, and trailblazers who spent their lives fighting for equal rights and reflect on the history of the movement that's brought us to where we are today. But Pride Month is also a reminder of the fights ahead of us to guarantee equality and protection under the law for all LGBTQ Americans.

That's why our Democratic House introduced and passed the Equality Act to prohibit discrimination at the federal level and guarantee protections for LGBTQ Americans. I was proud to be a co-sponsor and help pass the Equality Act twice in the House, but the Senate still hasn't taken up this critical legislation for a vote. Will you join me in kicking off Pride Month by telling the Senate it's time to bring the Equality Act to a vote?

While LGBTQ Americans remain vulnerable to facing discrimination in housing, employment, and education, Republican legislators across the country are actively pushing legislation that targets transgender youth. We all have a responsibility to fight back against harmful legislation and push for laws that protect our rights.

I will never stop fighting to ensure all LGBTQ Americans have full equality, and I'm thankful that you're in this fight with me. I hope you'll join me in celebrating Pride Month by taking action to move the fight for equality forward.

The Equality Act is the legislation we need to guarantee all LGBTQ Americans have the federal legal protections they deserve. Add your name to call on the Senate to take the Equality Act for a vote.

Thank you, and happy Pride Month.
