John — I wanted to reach out myself to say thank you for stepping up to help with our end of month goal.
Building a strong grassroots campaign is how we’ll have the support to win this race and bring all our voices to the U.S. Senate. This early support is so important and thanks to you we’re right on track.
It’s especially important that we win this race when our Commonwealth and country are facing such incredible challenges right now.
As a physician and a woman, I find it outrageous and dangerous that Republican legislators in states including Pennsylvania are attacking reproductive justice, and that access to abortion is at serious risk as the conservative-stacked Supreme Court has agreed to take up a case that could overturn Roe v. Wade. I will always defend reproductive justice and access to safe, legal abortion.
Our democracy is also in a tenuous place. Trump Republicans are vying to elect another U.S. Senator in Pennsylvania who will vote to undermine voting rights and limit access to the ballot box. Meanwhile, Senate Republicans just blocked a commission that would investigate the deadly insurrection on the U.S. Capitol — doubling down on the attacks against our federal lawmakers and our democracy. I will always show up to protect our democracy.
We are also recovering from a pandemic that has put millions of people out of work, and as we pass relief for workers and families, we can’t afford to leave anyone behind. I will always stand up for workers and families.
I’ve been battle tested as a doctor and as the Chair of the Montgomery County Board of Commissioners, and I’ve proven that I can take on any challenge — whether it’s raising the minimum wage for county workers or guiding patients through unimaginable circumstances.
I have what it takes to deliver lasting results in Washington to better the lives of our workers and families, and strengthen our economy and democracy. I need a strong team to get there. Thank you for having my back as we work to make that vision a reality.
With gratitude,
Val
