Sen. Marco Rubio, one of the GOP senators who voted to throw out Trump's impeachment case, is up for reelection next year -- and he already has a powerful challenger.

Rubio, who callously referred to Trump's impeachment trial as “stupid,” has been one of Trump's most devoted allies. He enabled fascism until the very end when he voted to acquit Trump.

But he's met his match with Val Demings, John. Demings, a Florida Democrat who served as the first Black woman police chief of Orlando, led the first House impeachment trial against Donald Trump and was formerly vetted to serve as Biden's vice president.

She's exactly the kind of leader we need to replace a man who openly sided with a wannabe authoritarian over his own constituents -- especially when Rubio's seat is one of the most likely to flip this cycle.

But defeating a GOP incumbent is no easy task, John. NBC News projects this to be “the most expensive Senate contest of 2022.” We need to ramp up our resources NOW if we're going to keep up with Rubio's dark money machine -- and while we don't have any corporate donors, we do have people like you on our side who believe in strengthening our democracy.

We know collective action works -- it's why we have a Democrat in the White House and control of the Senate. We don't have any time to waste, John. We want to make sure we can rush bold women like Val Demings the funds they need to run and win.
