Maria Devlin Celebrates One Year at Families in Transition
June 15, 2021 marks one year of service for Maria, our President & CEO. She joined the organization in the middle of a pandemic and a homelessness crisis and has been leading the way with unwavering calm and determination.

Take a look back at just a few of the things we've accomplished under Maria's leadership...
- Conducted effective infectious disease prevention procedures, ensured essential staff had routine COVID testing, made vaccinations available to program participants and staff
- Ran Winter Emergency Shelter Operations, in collaboration with the City of Manchester, aimed to prevent the loss of human life due to extreme weather conditions, providing services to more than 180 unique individuals experiencing homelessness
- Secured private funding to support operations at our Family Emergency Shelter in Wolfeboro, allowing us to continue serving families experiencing homelessness in the Governor Wentworth Regional School District for the next 2-4 years
- Initiated the process for and development of a Strategic Plan, creating an updated vision and mission for the organization's future growth

"It's impossible to summarize all of the amazing things our organization has achieved this past year, but I know we couldn't have done it without the outstanding staff members that make our mission possible everyday. With a year full of highs and lows, they have been steadfast and we continue to do the vital work that is needed in our community. I look forward to another year of service to this team and this mission." - Maria

Housing Updates
It's not often that we get to share the amazing behind the scenes work of our Housing Team. One of their goals is to support people in locating and securing long-term permanent housing. They reported that, over the last three months, 16 households have successfully moved into independent apartments in the community using their Housing Choice Vouchers! There are 23 additional households who also have their Housing Choice Vouchers and are in the process of securing apartments. We are so excited for these families and individuals and for the opportunity this creates in our housing units to support more people and help them successfully transition through our program and someday into their own housing opportunity in the community.

The Walk Against Hunger was a huge success!
With the efforts of hundreds of walkers and over 50 teams, more than $125,000 was raised to support the mission to prevent and break the cycle of homelessness. This event was a huge success because of everyone's hard-work, dedication and passion for helping those in our community! Thank you to all of those involved.
