June marks the beginning of Pride, an annual celebration to support and celebrate the progress the LGBTQ+ community has fought for and won, but this month is also a moment to recognize all the work that's still ahead.
We're seeing a record number of anti-LGBTQ+ bills passed into law. Hateful, cynical politicians are dehumanizing LGBTQ+ people and trying to make them second-class citizens. I won't stand for it.
My opponent is one of the worst offenders who has consistently voted against the LGBTQ+ community throughout his career. He supported the Defense of Marriage Act, voted against repealing Don’t Ask Don’t Tell, favored Trump’s ban of transgender people from the military, actively speaks out against the Equality Act and more.
In the year 2021, it’s far past time we put laws in place to protect LGBTQ+ folks. When I'm in Washington, I will work with the Biden Administration to make sure no one is discriminated against for who they are or who they love.
