Dear Supporter, What an incredible weekend in Washington, DC at the #March4Palestine we organized with the US Council of Muslim Organizations. What an amazing turnout. Tens of thousands of people converged on our nation’s capital to demand sanctions on Israel and to shout at the top of our lungs: Free, Free, Palestine! What a powerful message -- to the US government, to the public, and to our siblings in struggle in Palestine. You can watch videos from the protest here on our Facebook page.
The grassroots momentum we have at this moment is unstoppable. The tide is turning when it comes to public opinion on Palestinian rights. However, despite unprecedented action by Members of Congress to block the sale of bombs to Israel, its government is unrelenting in demanding even greater amounts of weapons from US taxpayers. Tomorrow, Israel is expected to make a formal request for $1 billion MORE in weapons--on top of the $3.8 billion in weapons we are already giving this year! OUTRAGEOUS!! Contact your members of Congress and tell them no $1 billion EXTRA for Israel! For far too long, Israel has enjoyed a blank check from the US government that it spends with total impunity. It uses our tax dollars to murder, imprison, torture, bomb, occupy, humiliate, blockade, and violate the rights of Palestinians, over and over again. And we have had enough.
This is another opportunity for us to push our elected officials to prove how progressive they are: contact them now and tell them to reject an additional $1 billion of our taxpayer dollars for Israel’s crimes! Thank you to those who joined us in the streets in Washington, DC this weekend. Thank you to those who raised your voices and your solidarity fists in your local communities, and to those of you who are spreading the word constantly on social media. Every action counts. I believe that we will see a free Palestine in our lifetime.
