Economic Democracy Weekly

This week we look at work, the economy, and their impact from many angles. Our lead story looks at worker cooperatives and the lessons nonprofits interested in more democratic workplaces might draw from these cooperatives’ experiences with worker management. We also feature an article about a recent conference of liberal donors and activists—and call attention to a potential oversight in their discourse. Another article looks at the latest example of workers being bossed around by politicians, as Republican governors act to strip nearly four million people of their benefits. Lastly, our upcoming Remaking the Economy webinar will explore both the world of work as it exists today and how to design work to be restorative and liberatory.
