Friend,
The RNC has launched an ad campaign attacking Rashida and her work for racial justice. They’re fear-mongering, calling Rashida part of the “radical left” for pointing out the truth that “policing in our country is inherently & intentionally racist.”
Can you chip in $5—or whatever you can afford—to show that you will support Rashida as she continues fighting for justice and liberation, even in the face of relentless right-wing attacks?
Rashida has been speaking up for a long time about how policing is systemically racist. When she wrote the line quoted by this GOP attack ad, Daunte Wright had just been murdered by the same police force that murdered George Floyd… in the midst of Derek Chauvin’s trial.
People are exhausted and scared, especially in Black and brown communities like Rashida’s.
As police officers are replacing school counselors, nurses, and social workers, we see our system of policing expanding—and continuing to target Black and brown people.
Our policing system is set up to over-criminalize, over-incarcerate, and otherwise punish people who are the most vulnerable. That’s not public safety.
So Rashida has been working with grassroots activists to reimagine and advocate for what actually keeps us safe. She encourages us all to think big and take bold action that meets the scale of our dreams.
But we’re facing a right-wing backlash. Our growing power and expansive vision for change threatens powerful conservatives who want to preserve the unjust, racist status quo.
Let’s show the strength of our movement for transformational change. Together, we can fight back against right-wing attacks and continue to build the world we deserve. Please chip in what you can afford today to support Rashida >>
