Dear John, I have one more extraordinary mother to tell you about, and I know you'll love this story.
Bakari's native Somaliland is currently going through a drought so severe it killed off the family's traditional source of income: raising cattle.
But Bakari is a born entrepreneur. She and her nine children used a grant provided by generous supporters like you to start three new businesses. They raise a herd of goats, host guests at a hotel, and run a local restaurant.

A Save the Children grant allowed Bakari to provide for her children, making sure they had access to food, medicine and school supplies, while she came up with new ideas to increase the family's income stream, and she found three.
Watch more of her story here!
Thank you,
