Dear John,
My name is Emma Milne. I'm a vet (you may remember me from BBC1’s 'Vets in Practice') and I have supported Freedom for Animals for many years, providing expert opinion on their investigation findings. ([link removed])
After viewing undercover footage of birds of prey being tethered in zoos, I backed their calls for a ban on this cruel practice. When Freedom for Animals investigated Borth Wild Animal Kingdom I gave the opinion that the constant pacing of the wolfdogs was a sign of poor welfare and mental distress. I took action on their campaign to free the beluga whales from the Sea Life centre in Shanghai.
As a vet I strongly believe that animals do not belong in captivity, especially when being used for human entertainment.
Having been involved with many charities over the years I know how difficult fundraising can be and just how important regular donations are, no matter how small. It lets charities plan campaigns in a much more coordinated way.
It is for this reason I ask you to please consider becoming a Freedom Champion by pledging a monthly donation and help Freedom for Animals to help so many more animals. ([link removed])
From now until 30th June, the charity is appealing for 40 new Freedom Champions to join them in their work. So far six people like you have signed up, making a monthly donation to support public awareness campaigns, government lobbying for new laws to protect animals, investigations to expose cruel practices and pressure campaigns to bring about lasting change for animals in need.
So please consider joining them today. ([link removed])
Best wishes,
Dr Emma Milne BVSc MRCVS
