Our freedom comes at a price, a price that our veterans and their families selflessly pay for us. That makes it even more important to take time to honor our veterans who preserve America's freedoms not only on Veterans Day, but throughout the year.
That's why I'm grateful that the National Veterans Memorial and Museum in downtown Columbus, that I worked to support in Congress, is finally open. It's packed with rich history and personal stories that help us continuously honor our nations heroes. This is the only public museum in the country that exists for the exclusive role of sharing the experiences, sacrifices, and voices of veterans across all eras, conflicts and branches of the military. The National Veterans Memorial and Museum both honors America's veterans and educates Americans about their service and sacrifice.
Now, I want to take the opportunity to honor and recognize some of the incredible veterans in Ohio's 15th District. If you, or someone you know, are a veteran, please consider emailing a military-related photo of the person to my office at [email protected]. Included with the photo should be an explanation of what their service (or your service) meant to you, along with the following information:
Name
Brief Bio (less than 250 words)
Military Branch
Rank
Years of Service
War or Conflict (if applicable)
Address in Ohio's 15th District
Phone Number
The deadline to submit information is October 16, 2019. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact my Washington, D.C. office at 202-225-2015.
