Dear Colorado Republicans,

Thank you for standing strong and helping us, our Republican Representatives, and our allies on the center right defeat ([link removed]) HB 1295. This bill would have devastated educational choice here in Colorado. But, parents from across the state showed up -- even calling the Democrat-sponsored bill "racist" -- and it was defeated.

It's time for us to take a strong stand on the situation with Denver Public Schools Board member Tay Anderson. You can see the links below for more information on the situation, but over sixty children have alleged that Tay violently assaulted them. Still, the DPS School Board has not acted to place him on leave during the investigation or take away his ability to interact with children at this time. You can reach out to the board by emailing [email protected] or call them at 720-423-3210.

The Colorado Democrat Party officially named Tay Anderson their "rising star of the year" in 2020. Attorney General Phil Weiser was an early, aggressive endorser of Tay. Now that these allegations have been raised, where are the Democrats and Phil Weiser? When our children claim they're being assaulted; when kids say they don't feel safe at school because they believe someone is using his position of authority to commit violence against them, all we hear from the Democrats is silence? Keep in mind that Tay Anderson spearheaded the effort to remove school resource officers from DPS. These same officers could have stepped in to help children or been available to children who needed to report, but Tay made sure they weren't at school anymore.

The Democrat Party and Phil Weiser owns this. They've backed Tay with accolades, endorsements, and support. Their silence is unacceptable.

Let's continue to be the only political party in Colorado who fights for children.

** Doug Lamborn cites Hunter Biden coverage in latest attempt to defund public TV, radio

Colorado Springs Gazette: ([link removed]) U.S. Rep. Doug Lamborn has introduced legislation to pull the plug on federal subsidies for the Corporation for Public Broadcasting and National Public Radio, he said Monday, claiming the public TV and radio outlets have “increasingly turned into a mouthpiece for the left.”

The Colorado Springs Republican has been trying to eliminate the organizations’ federal funding for at least a dozen years, arguing that taxpayers shouldn’t be subsidizing media conglomerates that receive the bulk of their funding from private sources, including membership dues and corporate underwriters.

** Larson: Redistricting must not repeat past gerrymander debacle

Complete Colorado: ([link removed]) Coloradans deserve a fair redistricting process that honors the state Constitution and creates more competitive congressional, state Senate and state House districts. That was the message Colorado voters sent when they approved Amendments Y and Z in 2018 by an overwhelming margin.

These amendments gave a clear mandate to end gerrymandering, to encourage political competitiveness, and to put Colorado at the forefront of the nation by enacting the most sweeping congressional and legislative redistricting reforms of any state. Fairness and competitiveness were also, ostensibly, the message that the 2011 Colorado Redistricting Commission chair, Mario Carrera, espoused in a recent Denver Post opinion piece. Expanding on a formula for measuring competitiveness that was developed in 2011, Carrera suggests a formula for drawing “competitive districts” in 2021.

** Opinion: Democrats gaslight Coloradans on transportation funding

Denver Post ([link removed]) : Voters have made two things clear to politicians. First, they want the right to vote on taxes and fees. Second, they don’t want to pay more in taxes and fees for roads and bridges.

Democrats in the General Assembly have decided to ignore that, opting for passing what will be the largest tax (fee) increase in the last 30 years. We hope Colorado voters are watching closely.
