I wanted to take a moment to share some of what I said in the debate tonight.
This moment calls for something new. It calls for someone who has walked in Virginians’ shoes, knows their struggles, and has been effective at solving their challenges. I’m confident I’m the right candidate for this moment.
Republicans have selected their nominee: Glenn Youngkin. The status quo can’t beat him. If we’re going to win, we have to nominate someone who will inspire a broad coalition of voters -- and polling shows that my opponent isn’t energizing Democratic voters enough to beat Glenn Youngkin.
We need to elect someone who can bring bold, transformational change to Virginia. Someone who will inspire a working mom to stand in line at her polling place to cast her ballot and who doesn’t just have a record of solving Virginia’s challenges in the legislature, but who has actually lived through them.
I have lived on minimum wage -- which is why, as Delegate, I fought hard for (and passed) raising the minimum wage.
I have lived without healthcare, and many of my loved ones have, too. It’s why I’m proud that we expanded Medicaid to over 500,000 Virginians.
My family has been hit hard by this pandemic, just as many working families across Virginia have. It’s why I’m the right leader to build a strong post-COVID economy for everyone, not just the wealthy and well-connected
With your help and support, we can and will elect new leadership for our state -- and we will make history by electing the first Black woman to serve as governor nationwide. Donate now and power my campaign through the final week before the primary.
To be big and bold, we need to elect a bold new leader who puts Virginia first, not one who is part of the broken status quo. Be big and bold now by donating to this historic campaign.

Jennifer Carroll Foy was born and raised in Petersburg. In 2017, she flipped a Republican district as a first-time candidate pregnant with twins. During her time as Delegate, Jennifer championed the ratification of the Equal Rights Amendment, helped expand Medicaid to 400,000 Virginians, and advocated for the Commonwealth’s most vulnerable communities.
She has a career of public service and it started long before 2017. As a public defender, Jennifer helped give a voice to the often voiceless — children, people suffering from addiction, those experiencing homelessness, those with mental illness, and the poor.
Now she’s running to be the first woman elected Governor of Virginia and serve as the first Black woman to be governor nationwide.
Help her make history. Donate now.
