[1]Women's March
Today, we at Women's March have a special message for you:
Thank you, John.
Thanks to YOU — and every person on this team who chipped in, signed a
petition, took a survey, or simply took time out of their busy days to
read our emails — we had an incredible month in May. In the face of some
of the most dire attacks on our reproductive rights and freedoms in over a
decade, we came together to mobilize around our values and fight back. And
we're just getting started.
We can't slow down now, because there is so much work still to be done.
There are a couple of important actions for Women's Marchers to take in
the upcoming week — so read on to hear how you can stay involved in our
fight for a feminist future.
1. Tell the Senate: End the Filibuster to Protect Our Democracy.
On January 6, our nation experienced what President Biden called "the
worst attack on our democracy since the Civil War," when a mob of white
supremacist Trump supporters stormed our Capitol. But when the Senate had
the opportunity to confront the harms to our democracy with legislation to
create a bipartisan January 6 Insurrection Commission, Republicans used
the filibuster to make their priorities clear and kill the bill: Party
over country; Trump over democracy; and obstruction over progress.
It's time to say loud and clear to Senate Democrats: Either eliminate the
archaic Jim Crow filibuster of our past or forfeit the ability to protect
and strengthen our democracy for the future.
That's why Women's March is proud to be participating in
#FilibusterFridays — where we continue to make our voices heard about the
importance of eliminating the filibuster. Here, you'll find directions on
how to call your Senators, Tweet directly at them online, or sign a letter
to urge them to end the undemocratic and racist filibuster. [ [link removed] ]Click here
