I’m so proud of my play cousin! While we’re not actually related, I share a lot in common with Kristen Clarke: we share a last name, we’re both daughters of Brooklyn, are both daughters of determined Jamaican immigrants, and are two Black women making history!

Folks, if you missed it, Kristen Clarke was confirmed to lead the Civil Rights Division of the Department of Justice, becoming the first Black woman to do so.

The rest of my team and I are ecstatic to see what Kristen will accomplish, and I’m excited to work with her Department and this Administration to fight discrimination and work towards a more equitable America.

Being a Black woman in authority isn’t easy, and I’m committed to supporting Assistant Attorney General Clarke. Will you chip in right now to keep me in Washington, fighting for justice alongside Kristen?

Black women are incredibly vulnerable to bad-faith, racist and sexist attacks while serving in office, and we get attacked from all sides. I have faith in the expertise of Asst. AG Clarke, and I’m ready to join her in the fight for creating a more equitable country. I am sure that she will lead the Civil Rights division with fortitude and determination.

Chip in right now to support our fight for a more equitable America. Your help will help me fight in Washington against the discrimination and inequities that hurt Brooklyn.

We’re so proud of you, Kristen. We can’t wait to see what you will do.
