Can a Simplified US Tax Code Help Green Energy? 

The Clean Energy for America Act, introduced in April, would replace more than 40 clean energy tax credits with just three tax credit categories. Researchers in WRI’s U.S. and economics teams welcome the change which would extend the availability of tax credits, update building efficiency standards and eliminate preferential tax subsidies for fossil fuel exploration, among other changes. Read more.

Climate Change Jeopardizes Health. Here’s What Countries Can Do About It. 

Climate change threatens human health through many channels, including vector- and water-borne diseases, heat waves that lead to stress-related illnesses, and extreme weather events. Roughly 60% of the countries that submitted adaptation commitments under the Paris Agreement have prioritized human health. More should follow that lead. A new paper by Stefanie Tye and Jacob Waslander shows how governments can address human health via their climate plans. Read more.
