Hi John -
The Autism Speaks Race to a Kinder World is a virtual 5K race series you won't want to miss! Take time this year to lace up and log some miles to create a kinder, more inclusive world for people with autism. It’s as easy as 1-2-3:
STEP 1: Choose to run 1, 3 or 5 races from the list below:
- July 4: Independence Day 5K
- October 2: Bullying Awareness 5K
- November 13: World Kindness Day 5K
- January 1: New Year's Day 5K
- March 20: Spring into Kindness 5K
STEP 2: Register as an individual or create a team
STEP 3: Join the fun on race day and log your miles
We know you run for a kinder, more inclusive world for people with autism, but we want to show our gratitude for your support with a little swag to make it even more fun!
- Run your first race and receive your race tee and finisher medal.
- Make it a three-race series and add an Autism Speaks neck gaiter.
- Go big and run all five races – we’ll add a great Autism Speaks baseball cap to your swag bag!
- Each race also features a collectible enamel pin to add to the ribbon of your finisher medal.
In addition, all runners will have access to training content, fun Zoom backgrounds and other good prizes along the way. Need more info before you dive in? Here are all the details:
WHAT IS A VIRTUAL RACE? A virtual race is a race you can run in any location, at your own pace, outside or on a treadmill, alone or with a group of friends. There are no worries about parking and race-day logistics, just the fun of the run.
HOW DO TEAMS WORK? Everything is better together! Recruit your team members and literally do the run in the same place or run together in spirit from locations far and wide. Need a morale-builder at work or school? There’s nothing like training and running for an important cause to bring out the best in everyone.
IT’S RACE DAY. NOW WHAT? It’s time to run! Plan your route, set a time to run and hoof out those 3.2 miles. (It’s OK to walk the 5K, too!) Record your race time and submit you results by 11:59 p.m. on race day. Check out the leader boards the next day to secure your bragging rights!
SPREAD THE WORD: When you complete your race, put that hard-earned medal around your neck and take a selfie. Share your accomplishment on social media using #runningonkindness. You’ll be part of an amazing community helping to create a world where all people with autism can reach their full potential.
Ready to Race to a Kinder World and support the autism community every step of the way? Let’s get moving!
