NRA denies discussing 'special arrangements' with Trump in return for its support

So let us get this straight:

  1. Trump was recently considering his support for universal background checks in the wake of back-to-back mass shootings in Texas and Ohio.
  2. Then the NRA’s CEO, Wayne LaPierre, rushed to the White House to “talk with the President” just days after the House launched their formal impeachment inquiry.
  3. And now, all talks of background checks have disappeared but the NRA is denying that they promised to offer any support in exchange for dropping gun safety legislation.

Folks, this is what corruption looks like. Plain and simple.

The NRA wants to buy the president’s loyalty and make it impossible to pass safer gun laws. But we refuse to give up, because progress on this issue is still possible.
