Hello John, Did you see this message from Iva? It’s exciting to see girls like her take action to make a difference in their schools and community. I agree with Iva. No student should be scared to go to school because of sexual harassment. Seven out of 10 girls report experiencing sexual harassment while in high school. But girls like Iva are refusing to accept the status quo. Let’s do our part to change the culture and push for policies and practices that ensure girls and all young people can thrive.
Speak up with girls like Iva. Let’s call on Congress to pass GEEA. [[link removed]]

Dear John,
I was a typical middle school girl who hung out with her friends between classes and at lunch. We had fun together … until a boy in our grade started harassing us with sexual comments and gestures.
secure.everyaction.com/NQNW6z-t60GV89FU1AMjZQ2 [secure.everyaction.com/NQNW6z-t60GV89FU1AMjZQ2] We were scared, so we reported his behavior to the vice principal. You know what she said? "Boys will be boys.”
My friends and I learned something that day: Our safety wasn’t as important as letting boys have their fun, no matter what it meant for us.
No one should have to face sexual harassment. No one should be scared to go to school.
Speak up: Tell Congress to pass GEEA today. [[link removed]]
The good news: Laws like Title IX already protect students. The bad news: Most schools don’t give the people responsible for implementing the law at schools – called Title IX coordinators – the support and training they need to identify and deal with sexual harassment.
We have a chance to change things!
The Gender Equity in Education Act (GEEA) can help Title IX coordinators do their jobs. Right now, Congress has the power to make GEEA a reality and help students like me.

Email your member of Congress today! “Boys will be boys” should never be an excuse for sexual harassment. [[link removed]]
