Hey John -- I wanted to give you a snippet of our work in North Carolina right now.
The redistricting process is complex -- but my team is working to make it easier and ensure folks are well equipped to make a difference this year.
Our team has put together some trainings and tutorials to encourage people to take advantage of the public mapping tools we’ll be using in North Carolina to achieve fair maps. These resources help folks to draw their communities (literally) which will be useful in advocating for those communities to be kept whole during the state’s map drawing process.
The goal of our mapping training efforts is to help people across North Carolina identify and document “communities of interest” so they can advocate for communities to be kept whole in the new maps that will be drawn this year -- and not manipulated by gerrymandering tactics like “cracking” and “packing.” Advocacy tools will be key to achieving fair maps and we need your help connecting folks to online resources like these.
Will you make a donation to All On The Line and help us continue educating our movement on the multitude of opportunities, resources, and advocacy tools that will be useful in the fight for fair maps?
