This Memorial Day is especially precious reflecting on where we were just a year ago when many of our freedoms were stripped as the pandemic made its way through our state.
The pandemic gave me a greater perspective on our freedoms as Americans. I now savor even the simplest things that I once took for granted, like going to restaurants and just sitting on the beach. I never imagined that those freedoms could ever be taken away. It made me realize that however simple these freedoms may be, it all comes with a tremendous price.
It is my great honor to send my very first message to you as your new Chair on this special day - in remembrance of those who have fought and died for our freedoms. I am humbled to serve you and pledge to help in this important fight to keep our freedoms and for our conservative voices to be heard.
I have already started working, along with your new leadership team, in initiating a plan to help elect freedom-loving Republicans to our legislature in 2022 and hope that I can count on your involvement and support to achieve this goal.
This is our opportunity to unite as Republicans and to work towards the common goal of building a better future for our families and for all of Hawaii by electing more Republicans to office.
Today, please take a moment to reflect on the blessings we are afforded as Americans and to be thankful for those who have fought and died for our freedoms, and for those who continue to serve our great and beloved country. I look forward to working with you.
