John,

This Memorial Day, on behalf of the Democratic Party of Oregon's Veterans Caucus, I hope you'll take a moment to join us in remembering and honoring the sacrifices of the military personnel who gave their lives while serving our country.

Today is the day Oregonians and Americans set aside to make sure we never forget the generations of Americans who have made this ultimate sacrifice, and to recognize and endeavor to support all those actively serving our country and putting themselves in harm's way.

While Memorial Day is when we come together as a nation to observe this sacrifice, for the friends, families, and loved ones of those who have died in the line of duty, whose own lives have been forever changed by that loss, each and every day is one of memory and observance. I'd ask that you keep those folks in your thoughts and your hearts today as well.
