John, I want to wish you and your family a happy Memorial Day.

I also want to ask that you take a moment to remember the brave members of our military who have answered the call to serve and made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.

As a member of the House Veterans’ Affairs committee, I’m committed to making sure we keep our promises to gold star families and to our veterans who return home. It is our duty to make sure that they have the resources they need to transition back to civilian life and easy access to the benefits they have earned.

It is my honor to work for the brave men and women of the U.S. military who put their lives on the line to defend our freedom and protect our nation. I hope you’ll join me in honoring them today and every day.
