At a meeting last week with Vladimir Putin, a reporter asked President Trump whether he’ll tell Russia to stop interfering in American elections. President Trump responded by jokingly looking at Putin and saying “Don’t meddle in the election.”
President Trump: election interference by Russia is no joke and it’s time we take decisive action to protect the integrity of our democracy.
The success of our democracy depends on the idea that every vote counts -- and that our elections will be safe from foreign interference.
With 2020 on the horizon, we can’t afford to wait any longer to address the ways Russia interfered in the 2016 election and prevent Putin and others from interfering in our elections ever again.
