tell you why your donation today is so important.

I'm not a career politician — I'm a single mom, nurse, activist,
organizer, and pastor. I ran for Congress to put regular, everyday people
first because I've lived the struggles of working people in our community
myself.

That means, when I discuss police violence, it's personal to me.
When I discuss environmental justice, it's personal to me.
When I discuss Medicare for All, it's personal to me.
When I discuss the Black maternal health crisis, it's personal to me.
When I discuss guaranteed housing, it's personal to me.
When I discuss a minimum wage of at least $15/hr, it's personal to me.

I won’t rest until we bring our anti-racist, progressive agenda to life.
But my race was decided by just three points in 2020. That means folks are
all but guaranteed to come out of the woodwork to try and take this seat,
whether that be GOP megadonors or less-than-progressive primary
challengers who want to return to the status quo.

That’s why we’re investing early — from reaching out to voters, recruiting
volunteers, and hiring staff — to prepare for the journey ahead. I’m more
motivated than ever to keep working to bring transformative change to all
of our communities, but I can’t do it without your help.
