John,

On Memorial Day, our Commonwealth and country pause to honor those who lost their lives protecting our freedoms.

We owe a debt of gratitude that can’t be repaid to the men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice so we could be safe here at home.

In honor of their sacrifices, I helped place flags at Calvary Cemetery in West Conshohocken this weekend.

However you choose to spend today, I hope you’ll join me in honoring them and lifting up their families — through taking a moment of silence, volunteering through a local veterans’ organization, or calling a loved one or friend who serves or has served to say thank you.

Most importantly we must go beyond words and recommit ourselves to leadership and services that are worthy of the sacrifices of those who serve our country in the military.

With gratitude,

Val
