John,

Today, we remember all those in our nation’s uniform who gave their lives to protect our freedoms. We honor their service and sacrifice. Here in this state, we are home to over 191,186 veterans, 9.2% of whom are women and 45.6% of whom are over the age of 65. President Biden, through his American Jobs Plan, is calling for $18 billion to improve the infrastructure of VA health care facilities to ensure the delivery of world-class, state of the art care to veterans enrolled in the VA health care system.
Amid the current COVID-19 crisis, we have an even greater duty to care for our military veterans and their families. They deserve not just our gratitude but our action, and Kansas Democrats will never stop fighting for those who fight for us. We will continue – through this current crisis and beyond – to advocate for the support and resources our veterans need.
