This Memorial Day, we honor the men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in defense of the United States. We will never forget their courage, bravery, and steadfast commitment to protecting the freedoms we all enjoy.

I've lost friends in my 12-years of service, so Memorial Day is always personal for me. It's a day of thanksgiving that I was lucky, when others were not, and their sacrafice on the alter of freedom shall never be forgotten.

As we enjoy the long weekend with family and friends, let's take time to show our gratitude to those who fought and died and reaffirm our commitment to liberty and justice for all.
