John,

It’s time to #CommitToQuit for World No Tobacco Day!

If you know someone who’s used a tobacco product, you know how hard it can be to quit. But with 1 in 10 adult deaths caused by tobacco-related illnesses worldwide, there’s never been a more important time to stop using tobacco for good.

Thankfully, the World Health Organization is offering its support with the annual World No Tobacco Day of action today, May 31st. We’re joining them, and we need you to as well! It won’t take much time, and your voice could make a huge difference.

Here’s what you can do to join today’s “Commit to Quit” efforts alongside Tobacco-Free Kids:

Take Action:

  • Coronavirus attacks the lungs, and health experts warn that smoking can worsen COVID-19 symptoms. There is also growing evidence that vaping may also harm lung health. We’re taking action to ensure lawmakers support the Quit Because of COVID-19 Act that has been introduced in the U.S. Congress.

The bill would provide comprehensive access to tobacco cessation treatments for Medicaid and Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) recipients, reduce the glaring health disparities facing our nation, and save lives.
  • The Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids has fought to reduce tobacco use worldwide, hold the tobacco industry accountable, and stop youth nicotine addiction for 25 years.

Thank you for standing with us on World No Tobacco Day and every day.
