Dear AFGE Activist,
This Memorial Day we pause to honor our fallen service members who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation. Memorial Day is our opportunity to reflect on the contributions of our armed service members who died in the line of duty. We honor their service and their role in defending our country.
As each year passes it becomes more important for us to remember the sentiment behind this solemn holiday. So many of us have connections to military service and it is critical that we honor the memory and sacrifice of those who never made it home. AFGE remains committed to lifting up the souls that are no longer with us and we are forever grateful for all they contributed to the fabric of our nation.
Today is a day of grieving for many veterans as they reflect on the loss of fellow service members. We join the Union Veterans Council in raising awareness about the difficult issues faced by our veterans today and the services that are available to assist them in their time of need.
