John,

Today, we memorialize and pay tribute to all those who gave the ultimate sacrifice for our country, our freedom, and our democracy.

We must never forget their memories, and we must honor them through action.

We must serve them through giving them access to the best healthcare innovations our country can give, and we must honor the memories of those lost by only sending our service members into harm’s way when absolutely necessary.

We also must ensure the families of those who are lost receive the support they’ve earned.

In Congress, I have done everything in my power to make sure that our country honors its promises to our service members, veterans, and families of the fallen.

So I encourage everyone to join me in taking a moment to honor our fallen heroes and express our heartfelt thanks to their families and to the brave men and women who continue to serve in the United States and around the world.
