Hello,

January 6th was a dark day for our democracy. Armed rioters stormed the Capitol building, wounded and killed several Capitol police officers, and tried to overthrow the results of a free and fair election.

We all saw these events play out on live television, so there shouldn't be any discrepancy about what happened. And there shouldn't be a single one of us who isn't committed to ensuring it never happens again.

Yet 175 U.S. House Republicans -- including the House Minority Leader -- just voted against creating an independent commission to investigate the January 6th attack.

We cannot risk handing the House majority over to folks who are unable to accept the truth and unwilling to defend our democracy.

I'm doing everything I can to defend the House majority next year, but I need your help. Can I count on you to chip in $5 to ensure we have the resources we need to protect the Democratic House majority?

Look, it's not just voting against the January 6th commission, friend. In recent weeks, they've ousted Liz Cheney for refusing to support The Big Lie, made outrageous claims about January 6th, spread conspiracy theories about the election and a global pandemic, and so much more. I don't even want to imagine what these folks would do if they regained control of the House of Representatives.
