We know the only way that life will return to a pre-COVID normal is if we get as many Americans vaccinated as quickly as we can. Unfortunately, Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul decided he'd rather play politics than help towards that goal.
Last weekend, Sen. Paul said during an interview that he wouldn't be getting the COVID vaccine. He said that he doesn't believe that he needs to be vaccinated because he already got COVID last year.
Sen. Paul knows that the CDC recommends that people who contracted COVID get a vaccine regardless.
This kind of denial of reality and science is what has led more than half a million Americans to die from the coronavirus. It's going to get more of us killed as the virus lingers in pockets around the country and new variants develop.
Fortunately, we have the chance to send Paul back to Kentucky and take away his platform that allows him to traffic in this dangerous denialism.
