Honoring Those Who Made the Ultimate Sacrifice

Dear John,

This weekend, Minnesotans from around the state are gathering for picnics, patio parties, and parades. Collectively, we head to the lakes, visit our cabins, or set up our camping spots. Regardless where we spend the weekend we are enjoying time with family and friends as we kick off the unofficial start to a Minnesota summer.

While those certainly are benefits of a long Minnesota weekend, the reason we gather is because of those bravest of Americans. On Memorial Day, we pause to honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice, and we express our gratitude for those heroic men and women who died while defending freedom. Please join me this weekend in saying a prayer to comfort the families of the fallen, and expressing our appreciation.

Trip to El Paso a Stark Reminder of Biden Border Crisis

One of the biggest concerns in Joe Biden’s first five months is his reckless approach to securing our borders. Once a priority for this country, the current administration is taking us backward. Earlier this month I went on a fact-finding trip to Texas to see the situation firsthand and talk with border security officials, farmers, and homeowners impacted by the current crisis. Sadly, Biden's border crisis is hitting home in northern Minnesota, too. The amount of illegal narcotics crossing our southern border has increased almost exponentially and those drugs are coming right up to Minnesota, wrecking our families and even killing our kids. We must secure our borders and take action now. Read more about my trip here [[link removed]].

Law Enforcement: We Have Your Backs!

Failed leadership has its consequences. When it comes to public safety, Gov. Tim Walz and Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey are failing our state and its biggest city. As a 23-year police officer, it deeply concerns me to see some politicians pander to the defund-the-police crowd and turn their backs on our law enforcement. According to the Minnesota Fraternal Order of Police, the murder rate is up 56 percent in Minneapolis. Calls to defund their police are killing morale, hampering recruitment and making our streets unsafe. As I continue to fight in Congress for criminal justice reform that provides our law enforcement with the resources needed to keep our communities safe, please join me in standing with our police, our sheriffs, and our State Patrol to let them know that we have their backs!

Parade Season is Here!

After a year full of mask mandates, lock downs, and regulations from the governor, I am excited to see the campaign calendar filling up with community festivals and parades! If you are interested in joining us in upcoming parades, please e-mail me at [email protected].

Sincerely,

Pete Stauber
