I'm reaching out today asking you to make your first online contribution of $5. It might not sound like a lot, but I hope you'll allow me a moment to explain why your grassroots support, right here and right now, is so urgent:

What we are witnessing from the Republican Party – here in Florida and across the country – is a wholesale abandonment of democratic principles and norms in favor of an extremist agenda that's detached from the truth. Party is being put above country. 

Just look at what we're seeing from Marco Rubio, Kevin McCarthy, and Mitch McConnell right now: Even though they lived through the violent insurrection on our Capitol – even though they witnessed the twice-impeached former president incite that insurrection – these Republicans are united against a bipartisan commission to get the truth about the events of Jan. 6. 

And the hard truth, friend, is that this modern-day Republican Party could easily take back power in Congress. They're raking in millions hand over fist from special interests to run ads, phone banks and field teams. The only way we protect our Democratic majority is if grassroots supporters like you take action – because when you give $5 and another person gives and then another, that all adds up to an unstoppable movement. That's why I need you to rush a contribution of $5 or more now to defeat Republican extremists, win in Florida and protect our majority.

With the fight ahead that we're facing, I'm counting on an unstoppable grassroots movement – and right now, we're still $1,282 short of what we need to raise before the end of the month.
