Friend --
Donald Trump's election fueled the rise of far-right extremist groups like the Proud Boys and brought them into mainstream politics. Now, the Proud Boys could be taking the next step in their quest for power -- they could be elected to lead the Republican Party in one of the most important swing counties in America.
In Clark County, Nevada, local activists with strong ties to the Proud Boys are considering running for leadership of the Clark County Republican Party. This would be a stunning escalation of the power that the fringe militia group has on the GOP.
The Proud Boys are a well-armed white supremacist group that played a key role in the January 6th insurrection at the US Capitol. If it were up to their members, Donald Trump would have overturned the 2020 election results and stayed in power -- by force, if necessary.
Now, a faction of the Proud Boys wants to take over leadership of the Republican Party, which would give them tremendous power over the party's platform, endorsed candidates, and, of course, the money that is raised by Republican donors.
Even worse? Clark County, home to Las Vegas, is the biggest county in Nevada -- a crucial swing state in the battle for the Senate and the White House.
The Republican Party is already too subservient to the desires of radical militia groups like the Proud Boys. The last thing we can tolerate is their members actively running the party's operations. Our democracy cannot survive if one of the two parties is actively hostile towards democratic ideals and free elections.

The hateful white supremacy of the Proud Boys is not who we are as Americans, and we are so grateful to have you on our side as we fight their rhetoric across the country. Thank you.
