I know you care deeply about ending the drug war. That’s why it’s still hard to believe that in the one minute it takes to read this email, another person will be arrested simply for possessing marijuana.

Hopefully you have enjoyed the recent updates from my colleagues on our work. Our members have generously helped us make amazing progress already this year. There are now 18 states that have legalized marijuana so far! We can do so much more if we end our fiscal year on target. We’re so close to our goal, but we need your support to cross the finish line.

And as we fight to advance drug decriminalization in more states, and federally... And as we fight to strengthen the George Floyd Justice in Policing Act to make sure it fully addresses policing issues that are disproportionately felt by people of color, including ending the transfer of military equipment to local police departments and outlawing quick-knock raids.

We've had some big victories to undo the punitive, cruel, and unjust drug war, thanks to the strong support of our members. But there’s so much work to be done federally and in places like the South and Midwest which have some of the harshest drug laws in the country.
