Hello John, I hope you're enjoying the long weekend.

Many people don't know this, but we're one of the few campaigns in the country running a year-round field program.

Our thinking is pretty simple: We can't expect to win if we're reaching undecided voters at the last minute before an election. That means we are constantly communicating with undecided voters and Independents about their priorities and the work I'm doing in Washington.

But when I first arrived in Washington DC, many long-time operatives told me this was a bad idea. They said it was too expensive to fund a year-round effort, and instead suggested I spend more of my budget on TV ads.

I disagree. Ads are fine, but I think grassroots organizing beats a commercial any day. Does it mean we need to keep more staff and volunteers on board? Sure. But we flipped this seat because of people like you in 2018 -- despite being vastly outspent on TV -- and it's how we're going to keep it blue in 2022.

Right now, my team is getting ready to double down in the field earlier than ever. But it's been a tough fundraising month and we're coming up short of our end-of-month goal. Can you chip in $3 to help get us back on track?

2021 is a redistricting year, which means that the lines will change and I may need to engage even more undecided and first time voters. They probably won't have heard much about me, which is why we're making this push now.

It's going to be a big challenge, but that's why we do field year-round. It's a critical piece of our campaign to win this race.

Can you chip in $3 so I can reach more voters?

I'm grateful for anything you can do today.

Mike
