Hey, I’m
writing to you today with a short note for two reasons.

First, I wanted to make sure that you saw my email from Thursday about our
fight to expand Medicare, improve its benefits, and lower prescription
drug costs. I included that original message in this email, so please read
on if you missed it.

Second, my team just let me know that we’re making progress on our $55,000
end-of-month goal, but that we’re still a bit short. We really need
additional grassroots contributions from folks like you. [ [link removed] ]Can you chip
in $3 right now to help us expand Medicare and fuel my work
for transformative change in this country?

Thank you for your support, and don’t forget to read on about our urgent
fight for Medicare expansion if you didn’t catch my email from last week.
Here’s what The New York Times said about it:

I led more than 155 House Democrats today in calling on President Biden to
expand Medicare as part of his next big piece of legislation. It’s not the
first time I’ve emailed you about this — but since then, our movement has
only gotten bigger.

Not only do we have 156 House Democrats (PLUS nearly 20 Senate Democrats)
with us, but the coalition spans the ideological spectrum. We have
progressives pushing for Medicare expansion, but we also have many of my
more moderate colleagues on board. We even have 15 “frontliners”
(Democrats in the toughest re-election races) signed on to this effort,
because they know that expanding Medicare and lowering prescription drug
costs are hugely popular among voters from all political parties.

[ [link removed] ]President Biden made campaign promises to expand Medicare and lower
prescription drug costs, and now we’re working hard to ensure he follows
through on those promises. Chip in $3 or more today and
fuel our fight for real, transformative health care reform as we build
towards Medicare for All.

A full 70% of Democrats in the House, including folks in tough re-election
fights, support expanding Medicare, improving benefits, and lowering
prescription drug costs because it’s good policy — but also because we
want to show people across America that we’ve delivered for them. Opening
Medicare to millions of new folks gets people care who didn’t have it
before, and lowering prescription costs can help people finally get the
medicine they need to survive.

Again, here’s what we’re calling on President Biden to support in his next
big bill:

* Lowering the Medicare eligibility age: This would immediately extend
coverage to 23 million people, including many who lost insurance
during the pandemic.
* Improving Medicare benefits to finally cover dental, vision, and
hearing care, and cap out-of-pocket costs: This will give folks on
Medicare much needed coverage to see the dentist, get hearing aids,
and afford a new pair of glasses.
* Empower Medicare to negotiate drug prices for everyone: The U.S.
spends far more than any other country on prescription drugs, despite
Medicare Part D being the largest purchaser. We need the government to
use its power to negotiate drug prices down for everyone.

These are widely popular measures and President Biden promised to deliver
on them. Medicare for All is our end goal, and I’ll never stop leading the
fight for it. But as we continue building our movement, we can pass this
transformative Medicare expansion plan right away.

Fewer people will struggle without care, fewer people will struggle to get
hearing aids and critical dental care, and fewer people will have to
ration their insulin or go without the medicine they need.

[ [link removed] ]That’s what we can deliver on with your help. Contribute what you can
today as we make this historic push for expanding and improving Medicare.
We need everyone doing their part to get this done.

I will keep you updated on our push for expanding Medicare as our
organizing continues.

In solidarity,

Pramila
