John,

Earlier this month, I wrote to you about a bill sponsored by my colleague and district neighbor, Rep. Madeleine Dean, to increase access to treatment for folks with opioid use disorder.

Rep. Dean wouldn't let Republicans who opposed PA's electoral vote certification and put our democracy in jeopardy lead the bill with her, so they shut this crucial legislation down out of pettiness and spite.

I wanted to update you with some great news: we brought the bill back to the floor, and we passed it. The GOP couldn't hold us back for long.

But the reality is, Republicans in the House have shown us who they are. They were willing to delay crucial legislation, even though they agreed with its aims, for the sake of defending insurrectionists who threatened our democracy.

This is why we need to fight hard in 2022 -- because Republicans will only do the right thing for American families if it happens to benefit their party.

Everyone thinks the fight for our House majority is far in the future, and as a result, donations to our 2022 efforts have slowed. In reality, if we're not prepared now, we'll fall far behind and be unable to organize and win.

Thank you so much -- I'm constantly in awe of the tenaciousness and resilient spirit that Democrats, both in the House and on the ground, continue to show.
