It’s been quite a year. With D.C. Republicans abdicating their oath to our Constitution, explaining away an insurrection at our Capitol, and turning a blind eye to appalling comments from those in their ranks, I’m reminded of a quote from Dr. Martin Luther King’s “Letter from Birmingham Jail”:

"We will have to repent in this generation not merely for the hateful words and actions of the bad people but for the appalling silence of the good people... "

And right now, the silence from so many of my colleagues on the other side of the aisle is deafening. Their inaction and indifference in the face of lies and vitriol is a choice, and we can’t cede our House majority in 2022 to a party that does not live in reality.
