“This exhibit features fifty years of movement history as told through my art. As someone who’s been in the struggle for a few minutes I am very aware of how our collective histories get stolen, erased, distorted or romanticized beyond recognition in ways that make them irrelevant (or even toxic) to today’s rebels. Those movements – like today’s – were mostly youth-led, and my hope is that with this exhibit we can open a space/time portal which young activists from different eras can reach through to touch each others hands, hear each other’s stories, listen to each others fears, and applaud each others victories. We set up times for inter-generational conversations, panels, performances and hands-on activities during the exhibit highlighting art, justice, organizing and collective healing.”

This panel discussion will explore the nexus between policing and prison with an eye toward impacting the system further upstream to reduce the prison population. Confirmed panel members are Victoria Law: nationally known prison abolitionist and Robin Magee: activist and former law professor.
Anti-Racism Workshop: Ally As A Verb

Reviving the Islamic Sisterhood for Empowerment is excited to announce a new series to address anti-racism and work towards dismantling white supremacy. This workshop, led by Valerie Shirley and Hope Sweeney of Minnesota Deaf Muslim Community, will examine the disease of colorblindness and how it creates barriers to allyship. Participants will engage in meaningful activities that will give fundamental tools to begin the journey toward allyship. Participants will also learn how to dismantle weapons of privilege and oppression that are held in order to become true accomplices in the struggle for equity.

Join Centro de Trabajadores Unidos en la Lucha (CTUL) to celebrate a powerful year of organizing for worker justice in the Twin Cities! There will be heavy appetizers and refreshments, performers and speakers, and dancing and music.
CTUL is a worker-led organization where workers organize, educate and empower each other to fight for a voice in their workplaces and in their communities. CTUL identifies the root causes of injustice and works to shift the balance of power between those who have it and those who don’t to improve the lives of our communities for present and future generations.

Join Voices for Racial Justice for an evening of celebration, healing, storytelling, art, and fundraising in support of our BRIDGE Prison Justice Community. We are excited to finally welcome home our Director of Criminal Justice after leading this work with us from inside prison. Kevin is an incredible father, poet, community member is joining us after 14 years incarcerated.
This celebration is a reunion to uplift all of those who have been building solutions to end mass incarceration, including those currently or previously incarcerated, their families, and community who care. The BRIDGE Prison Justice initiative has been going six years strong, which started with incarcerated leaders in our community who built a BRIDGE with their family and friends on the outside. We know our communities continue to do the work failing systems cannot do, so it is crucial we celebrate, support, and invest in those who continue to do the invisible and honorable work.
