Hi there,

POLITICO: “Republicans who sought to undercut or overturn President Joe Biden's election win are launching campaigns to become their states' top election officials next year.”

When Georgia flipped blue for Joe Biden in 2020, Rep. Jody Hice signed on to a brief asking the Supreme Court to overturn the election results -- and now he's running to control Georgia's election as secretary of state.

And he's not the only Big Lie Republican looking for election control, team:
  • Arizona state Rep. Mark Finchem, who proposed the latest conspiracy-backed vote audit in Arizona, is running for secretary of state
  • Jim Marchant, who sued to overturn a congressional race he lost by five points, is running for secretary of state in Nevada
  • Kristina Karamo, who has flooded conservative media outlets with baseless election fraud claims, is running to be Michigan's next secretary of state
If any of these anti-democracy Republicans win next year, they'll control the elections in four of the largest battleground states in the country -- states that will determine control of Congress in 2022, and who wins the White House in 2024.

We don't plan on letting that happen, so we've drafted a new strategy to target these four crucial secretary of state races with our Democracy Defense Fund -- but we'll need to raise $5,000 to get it up and running on the ground.

We're facing a difficult moment in our nation's history.

From this point on, we will either continue to have a representative democracy upheld by truth and justice -- or we'll allow a dangerous sect of conspiracy theorists to undermine our democracy to appease one man.

Thank you for being a part of this crucial election cycle and helping us do everything we can to secure a progressive future for our country.
