We have to maintain our grassroots momentum if we want to prove to the establishment that our movement is here to stay.
John,
As we've seen with Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Ilhan Omar, and Rashida Tlaib during their first re-election campaigns in 2020 — progressive incumbents running for re-election face an uphill battle.
And as Jamaal gears up for his first re-election in 2022, we know we could face anything and everything from attack ads from the political establishment to well-funded challengers for our seat.
While we aren't sure what's in store for us in the near future, we're not going to idly wait around to find out. We're gearing up for every possible scenario in the book: negative impacts of redistricting, well-funded challengers, Republican attacks, and more. And right now, we need to make sure our fundraising and resources are strong enough to rise to every occasion possible.
On Thursday, we rolled out our end-of-month fundraising goal: $7,500 over email by Monday, 5/31, at midnight. We're serious about hitting this goal, John, and doing so will ensure that Jamaal and our team have the resources and tools necessary to continue our work and grow our movement. If you can, please contribute $3 or anything you're able:

Ever since he announced his candidacy for Congress in 2019, Jamaal has refused to accept funding from corporate PACs and lobbyists who buy their way into influencing politics. Because at the end of the day, Jamaal is fighting for us in Congress, not big money sources.
Our campaign fundraising is largely fueled by individual donors like you, John — so if we want to ensure that Jamaal can keep causing problems for the status quo and advancing our progressive values, we'll need a massive fundraising push from the grassroots. Please chip in anything you can today to help strengthen our campaign for the challenges ahead.
Thank you for your support,
Bowman for Congress
