At the recommendation of EBYD's Policy and Political Affairs Committee, the Executive Board recently voted to tentatively endorse the following pieces of legislation using the expedited process outlined in our bylaws that allows the board to do so "provided said position is consistent with this organization’s platform."

California Assembly Member David Chiu's Assembly Bill 629 ("Seamless and Resilient Bay Area Transit Act")
This bill would require greater coordination among and integration between the 27 transit agencies with jurisdictions in the Bay Area to, as the bill state, integrate all transit in the region to operate as one seamless, easy-to-use, multimodal transit system from the perspective of the user; equitably expand and improve access to high-quality, reliable and affordable public transportation; and prioritize institutional reforms that support the creation of a more seamless and resilient public transportation network.
