Tucker Carlson recently used his segment on Fox News to blast the Pentagon for caring more about “hiring more pregnant Air Force pilots” than defending the United States. Then, Sen. Ted Cruz claimed Democrats are turning the military into “pansies.”
Why are Republican men so outraged? After four years under Trump, military leadership within the new administration has refocused on diversity and inclusion.
To showcase it, Corporal Emma Malonelord was featured in a recruiting video where she discussed her childhood experiences growing up with two moms and her efforts to “prove my inner strength” and “shatter some stereotypes along the way.”
But that was too much for Ted Cruz, who went on Twitter to complain that an “emasculated military is not the best idea.” And in case that wasn't sexist enough, former Trump aide Sebastian Gorka added a personal attack against Malonelord: “You are a disgrace to what it means to serve in the military at any rank.”
It's past time men stop telling women where they “do and don't belong.” Please, John, help us send a clear message to Tucker Carlson, Ted Cruz, and every Republican who feels threatened by a woman in power. Let us know where you stand now:
