We'll put it bluntly, John.

The Line 3 pipeline directly undermines the Biden administration’s stated priorities of respecting Indigenous rights and responding to the climate crisis.

From June 5 to 8, activists across the United States are heeding the call of Indigenous leaders and joining the Indigenous-led, non-violent action along the Line 3 construction route.

Our demands are clear: Biden must listen to the people and direct the Army Corps of Engineers to immediately reevaluate and suspend or revoke Enbridge’s Line 3 Clean Water Act Section 404 permit.

If you’re able to join the on-the-ground resistance, you can get more information here ([link removed])– but in the meantime, we need to generate massive public pressure with thousands of messages and calls to Biden.

Will you add your name right now calling on Biden to revoke the key water permit for Line 3 and protect Indigenous rights and the climate? » [link removed]

In the lead up to the Treaty People Gathering, over 300 organizations, representing Indigenous groups and national and local organizations, sent a letter calling on President Biden to direct the Army Corps of Engineers to immediately re-evaluate and revoke the Section 404 permit.

The Army Corps of Engineers issued the 404 permit on November 23, 2020, but refused to prepare an environmental impact statement to consider the impacts on Indigenous people and the climate. Biden and the Corps have the power to suspend or revoke the permit if the Corps determines that new information surfaces or significant objections arise that they did not consider initially.

The Line 3 pipeline would unlock CO2 emissions equivalent to 50 coal plants, cross more than 200 waterways, violate treaty rights, and spell disaster for local communities and ecosystems that call the headwaters of the Mississippi home.

In order to be a #ClimatePresident, President Biden must stop this pipeline and reject all fossil fuel projects. We will not rest until Biden upholds his principles and puts people and our planet before fossil fuel profits.

Please take the first step and add your name to our petition calling on Biden to revoke the permit and we’ll be in touch with more ways you can support the frontline resistance. »[link removed]
