It’s been a busy week, but before you head out to enjoy the long weekend, we wanted to make sure you saw what happened at the Republican primary debate between Assemblyman Jack Ciattarelli and Hirsh Singh.

Whether it was calling Trump “the greatest president of my lifetime” (Singh) or saying they “supported Trump’s policies” (Ciattarelli), it’s clear this primary is a competition to see who can do the most to fire up Trump’s far-right base.

Both candidates spent the debate saying they would roll back reproductive rights and attacked common-sense gun safety measures. They want to take New Jersey backwards.

We can’t let that happen.
