Friend,
Has May been a long month for you, too? We've seen House
Republicans remove Liz Cheney from her leadership post simply for
telling the truth; leaders like Kevin McCarthy choose party over
country by blocking an independent, bipartisan 1/6 Commission; and
Marjorie Taylor Greene and Matt Gaetz continue to wreak havoc
everywhere they go. It can get exhausting.
But on the hopeful side of things, I'm deeply encouraged by the
amazing momentum and growth of the Country First movement.? Reasonable
people of goodwill from every state and background have found a home
here.? And what's unique about us is our recognition that we can
disagree on policy yet agree that conversation, collaboration, and
common ground are the path to real, durable solutions to our nation's
problems.? And that gives me, and I know many of you, great hope for
America's future.
Of course, it would be unwise to dream up a brighter future without
reflecting on the past, which is exactly what Memorial Day prompts us
to do each year.? This is the weekend that our nation collectively
remembers, thanks, and mourns those who paid the ultimate cost for us
to live in freedom.? These brave men and women are the epitome of
COUNTRY FIRST -- they gave their last breath in defense of our nation
and constitution.? Their sacrifice was not for a political party or
president, but for all of us. And it is up to the living to make our
country worthy of that gift every day.
With enduring gratitude for the glorious men and women we honor
this weekend, I hope we all will seize the opportunity to take a break
from the bad news, unplug from toxicity, enjoy the ones we love, and
thank God for America and her heroes.?
Country First,
Adam
PS:?Country First's volunteers
are the backbone and inspiration for this movement. We have an active
community of people from all walks of life who share a desire to find
common ground and solutions to our nation's challenges. We
hope you'll join us.
